In 2021, I discovered the world of modular synthesizers and started experimenting in VCV Rack. What struck me most was the almost limitless freedom: you could not only choose ready-made instruments and effects, but literally build your own musical systems out of individual modules and connections between them. ELP2 · A moment at 17-36 In this patch I used the Sine VCO from Surge XT and NoteSeq16 to create a generative chord progression. The resulting pad sound is spread with the Galaxy reverb and the Chronoblob delay, and then processed once again with the Plateau reverb on a send track. ELP2 · Heavenly Guardian The track Dungeon Keeper ends with the sounds of the street and a street musician playing the piano, accidentally captured in the recording. Symbolizing the transition from work to the tranquility of the evening, I decided to record the notes played by the musician into my modular looper. The looped piano melody creates a sense of calm. By processing it through a chain of audio effects, I achieved an ambient conclusion to the evening. ...
